Here are some frequently asked
questions regarding shows or The Agora... please refer to this page
before calling or emailing.
Q: How do I purchase
tickets?
A: You can charge
tickets by phone by calling the Agora Box Office @ 330.696.1010 or
by dropping by the Agora Box Office, located in the main lobby of
the Agora. The Agora Box Office is open Monday – Friday, 10am –
5:30pm [later on show nights, and after 3pm on weekend show nights].
We accept Cash, Visa, and MasterCard [credit & debit cards]. There is a $1 per ticket service fee for cash
purchases, and a $1.25 per ticket service fee for credit / debit card
purchases. For questions about hours, ticket availability, or any
general questions, please call us at 330.696.1010. Tickets may also
be purchased online @
ticketmaster.com
Q: My ticket has an assigned seat. I thought it was a General
Admission show?
A: Ticketmaster tickets
do have a number assigned for each ticket, but it will also say GA,
indicating that it is still indeed a general admission show.
Some events [such as wrestling] do have assigned seating, but that
would be indicated at the time of purchase.
Q: What time do the the doors to the venue actually open?
A: Doors open @ 6:00pm
on show nights. The BackStage Cafe, Ballroom Bar, and Ballroom will
all be operational. Our newly remodeled Ballroom will feature live
concert footage on our 10' High Definition screen until
the show starts. The restaurant and bar will be open before, during
and after the show for your convenience.
Q: When is the concert over?
A: Show times vary due
to a number of reasons. The Agora understands that many concertgoers
need an earlier event because of work or school the following
morning. To accommodate this, headlining acts will take the stage
between 9:30pm and 10:00pm. Opening acts can be as early as 6:00pm.
Feel free to call the Box Office for details on a specific event.
Q: Is there Parking available?
A: Yes. The Agora is the
only area venue of this kind to provide secured, lighted,
on-premises parking in our own paved main lot off Prospect Ave.
Additional parking is available in our secondary, monitored, on-premises lot. No more long walks in the
snow from or to your car. All for only $5.00.
Q: Is there an info telephone number?
A: 330.696.1010
Q: What ages are allowed in the Agora?
A: The venue is all
ages, with a few exceptions. Certain events are age restricted due
to the nature of that event. If a show is in fact age restricted,
this will be noted on The Agora website and on the actual concert
ticket.
Q: Is there a parents section if I'm just dropping off my
teenagers?
A: We do have a
designated parent area. Please inform the security guard at the
front door that you are a chaperone and they will gladly direct you
to this area.
Q: My kids are under the legal drinking age...will they have
access to the bar?
A: The bar is in the
lobby and in order to be served, you would have to show proper ID,
and be wrist banded. Even if you have a wristband, you can still be
carded at the bar. This eliminates the passing off of the
wristbands.
Q: What type of security is there?
A: We hire Tenable
Protective Services for our concerts.
Q: Do you allow cameras, or recording devices?
A: This is contingent
upon the band's rules. We will post information clearly on all
entrances.
Q: Can I bring in my Back Pack?
A: No. For security
reasons, please leave items like that in your car. This also applies
to items such as thermoses, coolers, lunchmates, etc.
Q: Once we're in, can we go outside and come back in the venue?
A: NO....there is a
strictly enforced NO RE-ENTRY POLICY!
Q: How do I book my band?
A: Please refer to the
booking section of this site.
Q: How much is it to rent the Agora?
A: This price
varies. Please call the Agora Box Office to answer any questions.
Q: Can I be added to the guest-list?
A: No, guest passes are
not issued by the venue.
Q: How do I buy a backstage pass?
A: You
don't....backstage passes are issued by the band, their management,
or the label. This is always determined by them, NEVER by the venue.
Q: Is The Agora Handicap accessible?
A: Yes, whether or not
the show is in the Theatre or The Ballroom, wheelchairs can be
brought in through a separate door. When arriving at The Agora, you
would simply come in the main doors and alert security or staff that
you need the handicap ramp door opened, and they will escort you in.
Q: What is the neighborhood like?
A: We're located about a
mile east of Cleveland State University. It's an industrial area,
made up of mostly businesses and warehouses...it's patrolled
regularly by Midtown Security.
Q: Is [fill in your favorite band name] coming to the Agora?
A: Concerts are
announced on our show page and our mailing list as soon as they are
confirmed. We do not announce shows or information about shows until
it is official.
Q: Is there a designated
smoking area?
A: Yes. There is an attached deck outside. Security will check you
out and then back in. If you leave the deck you will be
required to repurchase a ticket to regain access to the venue.
